Yaw Amoateng Afriyie, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), has paid tribute to his late father, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, who would have turned 70 today.
He admitted in a post that he couldn't repay the former Forestry Commission CEO's sacrifices, but committed to keep his memory alive.

Sir John, the former General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party, died on July 1, 2020, at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital after contracting COVID-19, according to reports.
On June 3, 2021, he was buried in his hometown of Sakora Wonoo in the Kwabre East District of the Ashanti Region.
