Manchester United is on course to find the right manager for the men's senior team after going trophyless in the last five seasons. The search has begun and some notable coaches have been listed to partake in the interview process. The list for the interview includes Luis Enrique, Erik Ten Hag, and Mauricio Pochettino. The search for a new coach has influenced the current coach Ralph Ragnick to consider a consultancy role if he is to remain at the club. Here is what to know about the various coaches and how their philosophies will be influential in helping to shape the future of Manchester United.
Erik Ten Hag
The current Ajax manager is the favorite to get the job. Manchester United is impressed with his English proficiency and his overall managerial experience. Although the premier league is a new experience for him, Ten Hag has the expertise to have his team playing with style and purpose. Manchester United will have to compensate Ajax with £5m if Erik Ten Hag is appointed.
Luis Enrique
The manager of the Spanish national side has been enlisted to fill the managerial role at Manchester United. But there is a slim chance and is due to his desire to coach only the national team at least for the upcoming world cup in 2022. Luis Enrique may be the best candidate for Manchester United. He has proven to be successful in managing superstars and plays with a clear philosophy.
Mauricio Pochettino
Maurichio Pochettino is likely to quit his job at PSG to coach Manchester United if the chance is given. The Argentine have not had the best of moment in France and had recently been eliminated from the champions league. The fact that his team had the best attacking trio in Europe makes matters worse. Pochettino may feel the need to start afresh in a league, he already has experience in and with a club with great history. Manchester United may be the right club for Mauricio but it may cost approximately £20m to get him
