This summer, Liverpool is considering another move for Rennes winger Jeremy Doku.
Liverpool are preparing a bid for the 19-year-old Belgian international, according to Calciomercato.
The Reds are said to be scouting Doku, who was a target for them during his time at Anderlecht.
Doku has been linked to Liverpool since it was revealed that he turned down a move to the club when he was sixteen years old.
According to Doku's father, Liverpool did everything possible to sign the promising forward in 2018.
"Steven Gerrard showed us tactical analysis videos." Mignolet, Mane, and Wijnaldum approached us at the training complex. What a welcome we got there – damn!" According to Het Nieuwsblad via Goal, David Doku stated in 2020.
It was, however, insufficient. Anderlecht brought out the big guns, and Romelu Lukaku's video at the time convinced him to stay in Belgium.
"They got clever with a Romelu Lukaku video. "Jeremy's final doubt was removed when he hesitated to leave," Doku's father said.
Doku eventually departed. He joined French club Rennes in 2020 after making over 40 appearances for Anderlecht.
Doku was a standout for Belgium during their Euro 2020 campaign last summer. The 19-year-old terrorized defenses with his lightning-fast pace and direct demeanor
However, despite introducing the rest of the world to his talents during the competition, he has been unable to capitalize on them. Injuries have limited the teenager to just four Ligue 1 appearances as Rennes fights for a place in the Champions League.
Liverpool, on the other hand, is not going to be deterred. They are well-known for sticking to predetermined goals, and in Doku's case, he is still at the start of his career.
If the Belgian had been tearing up the French league, Liverpool might have been persuaded to sign him. However, they would have had to pay an exorbitant fee as well.
With injuries impeding his progress and Rennes thriving in his absence, he may be available for a lower fee this summer If he does
