Manchester United are on the lookout for a new permanent manager ahead of next season, and Mauricio Pochettino of Paris Saint-Germain is considered to be high on their list.
Man United want Mauricio Pochettino puts PSG in a tight position.
Pochettino has been associated with the job of managing Manchester United for several seasons, dating back to his tenure at the Parc des Princes.
However, the footballing Gods once again failed to join the Argentine and United, with United electing to keep former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Paris-Saint-Germain in need of a replacement for ex-head coach Thomas Tuchel.
But fast forward a season, and Pochettino's chance to return to the Premier League has emerged once more.
United are in severe need of a long-term replacement for interim manager Ralf Rangnick, while Paris Saint-Germain are anticipated to look for a new manager at the end of the season after their dreadful Champions League performance, which saw them eliminated in the first round by Real Madrid.
Pochettino, as quoted by Fan Nation, spoke to reporters about his future in France following his side's European exit earlier this year: "The moment is all I can deal with." What will be will be in the future.
"We play in order to compete and win." It's a tough blow (being eliminated from the Champions League), but we have to keep our cool now."
But if United are serious about bringing in the former Spurs manager, they'll have to come up with a big compensation package - something United's owners, the Glazer family, are said to be hesitant to undertake.

PSG and Manchester United are in a transfer battle for Mauricio Pochettino's services.
According to a recent report from ESPN, Paris Saint-Germain is in a difficult situation when it comes to enabling Pochettino to depart.
Paris Saint-Germain is likely to demand payment from United for the opportunity of releasing Pochettino from his contract ahead of schedule, as they are eager to recuperate a significant sum of money.
However, if United wants to interview the Argentine, they'll require permission from his current company, and if the French side agrees, they'll effectively waive their compensation rights.
Pochettino may be dismissed of his duties at the end of the season if he does not succeed in becoming United's new manager, and with the Red Devils pursuing other targets, like Ajax's Erik ten Hag, there are no assurances that he will be in charge at the start of next season.
