Jorginho, once despised by Chelsea fans during his spell with former manager Maurizio Sarri,has found his way back in to the hearts of Chelsea fans and is now arguably a fan favourite.
Jorginho who struggled in the first few games for chelsea under Maurizio Sarri needed a defensive cover to operate freely in the heart of the midfield which he found in Kante.
Playing along side with Ngolo Kante, the Italian defensive midfielder controlled the midfield with passion while the France international Ngolo Kante provided a defensive cover for Jorgino.
Jorginho faced huge criticism as he was the favorite for the defensive midfield role at Chelsea during Sarri's reign as Chelsea manager,
A position in which Kante is well vested in and which he controlls like no ones bussiness,was given to the Italian.
This didn't go down well with Chelsea fans who didn't hesitate to voice out their disapproval for the managers choice.
There wasn't much of a difference under Lampard as Kante was made to play in an advanced role.
Thomas Tuchel turned Jorginho to a fan favorite after taking over from Lampard.
Thomas Tuchel combined a defensive midfield pair of Kante and Jorginho with the former providing defensive cover for the later to distribute passes, this turned to be the winning formula which helped chelsea to the Champions league title and subsequent honors.
The midfield pair of Kante and Jorginho was certainly the driving force, if not the difference between Chelsea and Real Madrid and Athletico Madrid.
This difference was again apparent in the final as they both executed their roles to perfection.
Jorgino who would've wished for a move away from Stamford Bridge due to the reception he receive a year or two ago,
has now built a reputation in the hearts of Chelsea fans world wide.
His desire to go back to Italy where his family resides has not been a secret,
but with club success coming his way under Tuchel, The Italian might consider penning down a longer term contact with Chelsea.
The European journey would've been nearly impossible had the two,Kante and Jorginho not mastermind the midfield.
With European championship achieved,the next is the domestic championship which the midfield duo will be crucial in mounting a challenge.
Jorgino however has persistently voiced out his will to return to Italy and Napoli inthe future.
With his contract approaching its end and with Chelsea currently under financial crises due to the sanctions on its owner, the decorated Chelsea midfielder could be on his way out of the bridge, should interesting offer come, although it will take a fortune to convince chelsea to consider selling him given his contribution to the team.
