For a country that has made temporary changes to their national team management and technical bench, it is expected to yield positive impacts, especially on their first game. However, there are signs that still show the Black Stars may not be as renewed as we all expected.
People have commended the new energy and atmosphere around the Black Stars. Since the game was moved to Kumasi, fans have shown they still have that profound love for the team. With this boost, we all desired the home support would put us on.
On the field, the lineup raised doubts with the inclusion of Jordan Ayew. Nevertheless, fans hoped to see what could change. Even though our entire gameplay was way better than recent ones, people still cannot understand why Jordan had to play full 90 minutes with such performance. It is no surprise fans booed the player. Many feels that canker of certain players having guaranteed spots, which has taunted us for years, hasn’t been touched.
Imagine Dede Ayew returns to the team. That means there’ll be an additional untouchable in the squad and it surely affects our performances. The question now is “When will that unchanging factor be gone?” We hope this will be added to the to-do list of the committee leading the charge for sanitizing our national teams.
