Solomon Darko Kwam, the District Chief Executive of Gomoa East District Assembly, has revealed that a Quarry Development Fund has been established in all quarry districts across the country.
According to him, the decision was reached after a series of discussions and agreements amongst quarry operators, which were organized by their mother association on behalf of the Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs).
He said that the fund will aid in increasing corporate social responsibility in the areas where the quarries are located.
"After all the factions pitched their difficulties and everything as far as their job is concerned, we have all agreed and therefore the necessity for us to establish up a fund to enable us to all work together," says the statement.

Gomoa East District Assembly member Beyi W'ano is pursuing stone quarry enterprises for tax evasion.
Due to petitions and counterpetitions, the Ministry of Local Government, Decentralization, and Rural Development was forced to host stakeholder meetings in November 2021.
The meeting was postponed to a later date, with the participants advised to try to engage each other in order to achieve an agreement.
As a result, Mr Darko Kwam observed, the two parties and their members took it upon themselves to continue the dialogue, which culminated in a mutual agreement for the fund's statewide deployment.
According to Mr. Darko Kwam, who also serves as the interim chairman for the fund, the fund's implementation.
