John Dumelo, an actor and politician, has announced the establishment of a food processing business in the Oti region's Guan District.
According to the National Democratic Congress (NDC2020 )'s Ayawaso West Wuogon Parliamentary Candidate, the project is expected to be completed in 14 months. He stated that the factory will be able to produce 1500 tons of ginger and other products per year.
He also stated that it will result in the creation of 750 direct and indirect employment. This comes after he produced many tons of ginger from his farm and declared plans to add value by making a paste under the brand Melo foods.
Mr. Dumelo announced the endeavor on his Instagram page, where he also publishes images. Workers were photographed at work, with some taking measurements and others laying the foundation for the structure.
"Construction of a food processing facility in the Guan district has begun," he said. "It is projected to be completed in 14 months, with a production capacity of 1500 tons of ginger and other goods per year, and the creation of around 750 direct and indirect employment."
