Mariam Owusu-Poku, Miss Malaika Ghana 2018, knew she had to make the transition from modeling to acting. "I've always wanted to perform, and pageantry and acting aren't too dissimilar."

Despite her appearances in a few TV episodes and films, ENO, a new Ghanaian Showmax Original drama series, is her most ambitious undertaking to date.

Kendall is the youngest of Abena Baafi's three daughters (Gloria Osei-Sarfo) and her mother's favorite. "Because Kendall's mother has always fed her a storybook luxury lifestyle, she grew up desiring the better things in life, which includes her taste in men." Mariam explains, "She wants everything and needs everything."

Mariam's participation in ENO, her move from pageantry to acting, and her collaboration with director Shirley are all covered in this article.

What made you want to play Kendall in the first place?

When I answered the phone, I was told that I had been suggested by someone. I need to figure out who this individual was so that I may thank them. The audition procedure was unlike anything I'd ever experienced before. I was instructed to submit a show reel, résumé, and biographical sketch. I had to work quickly on some of them because they were unfamiliar to me, and I needed to present them in the most professional manner possible. After months of waiting, I received a call to come in for an audition. Unfortunately, I was unable to attend my audition due to illness, and I realized immediately that I had blown it. Fortunately, I received a callback, for which I am quite glad.
