A moving truck has caught fire in Adiewoso, a village in the Western Region's Ahanta West Municipality. The event happened in the early morning hours of March 25. According to an eyewitness, the vehicle, a Rhino truck, was traveling from Accra to Ivory Coast.
"It had transported pesticides from Accra to Ivory Coast, but it suffered a mishap and caught fire near Adiewoso." Mr Ben Ajumako claimed on Connect FM, "As I talk to you, the car has burned to ashes."
Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) came at the site, but it was too late to salvage the situation, according to him. "Fortunately, the driver and his companion were able to flee the scene, so there were no fatalities."
This comes only days after a fatal accident in Asemasa, a village near Beposo in the Western Region's Shama District.
After colliding with a tipper truck, 14 occupants aboard a Ford car traveling from Tarkwa to Accra were killed.
