Hiplife/Hip-hop Artist Ayesem has said that he’s vowed not to ask Kofi Kinaata for a collaboration again because Kinaata has refused him on countless occasions.
In an exclusive interview with Nana Adwoa Arthur on Connect FM’s afternoon drive-time show ‘Yenko fie’, the rapper said his attempt to have Kofi Kinaata on a song has proved futile.
“Kofi Kinaata is like a brother. We’ve known each other for very a long time. And the fact is, I’ve sent him songs for collaboration, but he hasn’t given me any positive vibes.
“Before my song, ‘Fantiaa na Meka’ came out, I sent it to him. He was happy with the song. Like I said earlier, collaboration should be mutual. He even brought some ideas on how we were going to do it, but I didn’t hear from him again.” Ayesem narrated
Continuing his ordeal, Ayesem said, “I heard him say somewhere that I don’t approach him the right way. When he needed me for his ‘Made in Taadi’ concert, he didn’t even call me, he didn’t call my manager. He sent me a voice note, telling me to cancel my shows for his. And we laughed about it, so I don’t know how he wants me to approach him.
“In 2019, when covid was at its peak, I called him for the same cause, he told me, he’s dismantled his studio because of covid. He promised to come through for me when the dust settled. I don’t know if he’s going to call me now or later.
“So I have made a vow to myself that I’m not going to call Kofi Kinaata for a collaboration again. Whether the collaboration comes or not I’m still Ayesem. I don’t need him to make it because I did the song that made me alone. Nobody helped me,” Ayesem concluded.
