The Super Eagles have arrived in Abuja for the second leg of their 2022 World Cup playoff tie against Ghana's Black Stars.

The team left Kumasi after the first leg match at the Baba Yara Stadium.

They arrived in the early hours of Saturday morning and will begin preparations for Tuesday's big game.

“We have landed Abuja…time to seal the 2022 World Cup ticket on Tuesday,” wrote Super Eagles' official Twitter handle.

Despite facing an intimidating crowd, Nigeria held Ghana to a goalless draw and are heavy favourites to secure qualification to Qatar.

With 15 minutes to end proceeding, Nigeria were awarded a penalty after Ghana midfielder Baba Iddrisu appeared to have handled the ball inside their box.

Nigeria’s hope of getting an away win from the spot was however dashed after VAR overruled a decision.

Nigeria coach Austin Eguavoen told reporters that his team were wasteful.

“We had two clear chances to just finish Ghana, but I think getting a draw is good even though we wanted to win here,” Eguavoen fumed.

The reverse leg is set for the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja on Tuesday, March 29, 2022.

Following the outcome of the first leg, Ghana have two options: a win or a scoring draw will secure qualification to the World Cup finals in Qatar, while Nigeria must win to advance.

The winner over two legs will earn one of Africa’s five tickets to the 22nd FIFA World Cup finals, scheduled for 14th November – 18th December this year.
