THE LAMP DEVOTION
Daniel 3:24-25 24
Then King Nebuchadnezzar was astonished; and he rose in haste and spoke, saying to his counselors, “Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?” They answered and said to the king, “True, O king.” 25 “Look!” he answered, “I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.”
This narrative gives us anther opportunity to celebrate our heavenly Father who is greater than all. When we say God arise, we are just asking for His greatness to show in unprecedented ways, first to us and to our enemies, and to all around us who may not know our God. That was actually what happened with the three Hebrew boys in Nebuchadnezzar’s fiery furnace. Unknown to King Nebuchadnezzar was the truth that God is a Consuming Fire. If God is a consuming fire, His fire must be more powerful than any other fire, or anything that presents itself as fire before God. What he did not know was that
God’s fire consumed his fire, so the Hebrew boys were actually enjoying the protection that comes from God’s fire, which in its operation, consumes only that which is evil. That explains why only the chords that were used to bind the three boys were consumed. Every child of God must know that God’s fire is more powerful than any fire they go through. No fire of the devil has power to consume you when you are encircled by God’s fire. God’s fire is embedded in His presence. This means that for as long as we abide in God’s presence, we are covered by God’s fire. What an amazing arrangement by our heavenly father to protect us His children!
Prayer
1. Spend time thanking God for His continued protection over your life and that of your loved ones. 2. Pray that you will only learn to abide in His presence to ensure you have full protection. 3. Father, in Your fire, no fire can burn me. In You I am safe and secure. Declarations
I affirm my faith that I am safe and secure in this life. The fire of God is all over me. The fire of God creates that break in any fire that is set towards me. Therefore, I shall endeavor to stay in His presence. I declare by divine authority that my life is safe because God’s fire encircles me in the name of Jesus.
