In Europe's top five leagues, the Premier League boasts the most wealthy clubs. They've set transfer records by signing players for tenths of a million dollars over the years. Paris Saint-Germain, on the other hand, owns the record for the most money spent on a single player. Despite spending a lot of money to get Neymar and Mbappe, they have failed to win the UEFA Champions League. 

Barcelona, on the other hand, has signed a slew of players worth hundreds of millions of dollars after receiving the largest transfer fee for the sale of Neymar. Manchester United, one of the most successful clubs in Europe's top five leagues, has made a number of high-profile signings in the past. Kepa Arrizabalaga is the most expensive goalkeeper not just in the Premier League, but also in the world. However, with the signing of Edoaurd Mendy, he has been relegated to the Chelsea bench.

Kylian Mbappe, the second most expensive signing, is expected to leave Paris Saint-Germain as a free agent this summer. Despite being one of the club's most costly signings, Ousmane Dembele's tenure at Barcelona has been hampered by injury.
