Concerning the rumors circulating in Barcelona since the tenure of Joan Laporta began. An interview was granted by El Periodico and the President of F.C Barcelona seize the opportunity to highlight the club's efforts in dealing with the current situation.

 

On the current situation;

Laporta responded that everything is accomplished and management is on the right track. He said that he is devoting more time than ever before and hopes to improve the economic situation at the end of the 2023 season.

 

On the crisis in Ukraine;

Laporta expressed that the crisis has forced management to rethink Espai Barca plans and there would be a meeting with Goldman Sach and the city council on when the team plays at Montjuic.

 

On Spotify deal;

Laporta considered the deal with Spotify as the best regarding the sponsorship proposal received. He elaborated on how Spotify is a well-known company and there was a clause in the contract which prohibited Barcelona from revealing the amount involved to the public. But he believes it is a better offer than the one Rakuten proposed to the previous administration

 

On signing new players;

Laporta reveals that management is on course to activate a  strategic plan before June 30th and will have the capacity to sign players and not only free agents 

 

On Xavi Hernandez;

Laporta reaffirmed that Xavi is the leader of the new project and would lead the club to be the best in history again

On leadership;

Laporta assured that Barcelona has always had leaders naturally and the main star is the team.

On rumors;

Laporta reveals that he is not bothered by leaks from the press. He knows Barcelona is alive in the market and would make deals when necessary.

 

On the league title;

Laporta said Barcelona will keep fighting to the end for the title. 

On CVC deals;

He explained how the proposal has changed and now the club sees it as an investment than a debt, although talks are still ongoing.

On renewals;

Laporta expressed that there is a framework to negotiate salaries due to Laliga's salary cap limit and management is on track to ensure that players like Gavi and Araujo stay at the club.
