As the Computerized School Selection is now available, all is set for the enrollment of first-year students in the various Senior High Schools and Vocational and Technical Institutes. Students can now print out their school placements. Senior High School enrolment will begin on Monday, March 28th, 2022, according to the Ghana Education Service.
All Senior High Schools are prepared to welcome parents and their children to the school for a smooth enrollment process. The school placement was intended to be released earlier to give parents two weeks to enroll and prepare for the academic work that will begin on April 4th, 2022.
To avoid wasting days in the academic calendar, parents and guardians have one week to go through the enrollment process and prepare for school. Ghana Education Service has released a general prospectus for Senior High Schools, with the only difference being the school specific colors.
Third-year students in Senior High Schools must vacate the buildings to make room for first-year students, and third-year students must take a three-month break because double track will be abolished for the 2022 academic year. In Senior High Schools, the dual track educational system has been substantially abandoned; this time, all first-year students will be in school at the same time, no more green and gold. Due to a shortage of infrastructure, one year group will be required to stay at home while two year groups will be required to attend school. At the moment, there are two year groups in school: final year students and second year students; schools are unable to accommodate three year groups in school at the same time.
The first year students report to school on April 4th, 2022, while the final year students depart on vacation on April 1st, 2022. The academic calendar has been well-structured to allow for the attendance of two year groups. The second year pupils will depart the school as the final year students return to school for academic study.
Some parents have expressed dissatisfaction with the one-week enrollment and preparation period for sending their children to school. They claim that the West African Examination Council (WAEC) released the Basic Education Examination results on time and that the Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) would be online two weeks before the reporting date.
We all know what it takes to send a child to Senior High School; these items are common to all schools, and all parents must stick to the reporting date.
