The internet is one area most people don't want to give a try, especially in some parts of Africa because of the numerous scammers defrauding people on the net. Some people also fear to take risks and others don't make proper reviews before venturing into something on the internet.
I remember sharing a nice opportunity I discovered on the internet with a female friend that could have helped her fashion business but she was not ready to give it a try because she was once duped by a scammer on the internet some time ago. She thinks the internet is for scammers and thiefs.
As a matter of fact, instead of running away from big opportunities on the internet because of scammers, why don't we tread with care and mine the goodies on the net?
You just need to understand what you are doing on the internet and that alone is a good stepping stone for you. I have met people who even attribute the internet to 666 and the end of the world. That's ridiculous!
