Earlier this month, Roman Abramovich was allegedly the target of a poisoning attempt. According to the Wall Street Journal, the 55-year-old, who is selling Chelsea while under government sanctions, displayed symptoms such as red eyes and peeling skin following peace talks in Kyiv.

According to the WSJ, the oligarch and at least two Ukrainian negotiators developed symptoms, and the incident occurred on the night of March 3, according to a separate report from Belingcat. Those affected were examined the next morning after traveling west to Lviv and then to the Polish border, according to the Bellingcat report.

Abramovich was last seen in an airport in Israel on March 15, and the WSJ reported that he has recovered from the alleged attack. The attempted poisoning is being blamed on hardliners in Moscow, who they claim want to sabotage peace talks. A spokesperson for the company has been contacted for comment.
