On March 30, 2022, President Akufo-Addo will deliver the State of the Nation Address (SONA) at Parliament.

Because the President was unable to deliver his sessional address on March 3, as required by Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution, it was postponed.

Members of the Minority Caucus have criticized the postponement, claiming that it has stymied stakeholder involvement on crucial bills such as the Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill.

The Director of Public Affairs for Parliament, Kate Addo, issued a statement on Monday stating that the President will deliver the Address to the House on Wednesday. She explained that the practice is in accordance with Article 67 of the Constitution, which states that "the President shall deliver to Parliament, at the opening of each session of Parliament and before a dissolution of Parliament, a message on the State of the Nation."

The event will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. at the Chamber of Parliament, according to the statement.

The speech will serve to lay out the government's policy goals and deliverables for the coming year.

President Akufo-Addo will also have the opportunity to emphasize his government's accomplishments, difficulties, and development plans for the coming fiscal year.
