De Gea, David
His strongest season at United since 2017-18, and it is likely to be rewarded with an unprecedented sixth Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year title, as was the case last season. De Gea has multiple game-winning efforts under his belt, but he now spends international fortnights at Carrington, like some of his teammates. 8
Dean Henderson is a writer who lives in the United
Henderson's season was largely written off after signing Covid-19 in July and De Gea's revival. He's made three starts, all of which came in United's less important games. Middlesbrough's FA Cup fourth-round victory was aided by a dismal penalty shootout.
Wan-Bissaka Aaron
Wan-Bissaka is the poorest in the world in defending at the far post, pressing, and crossing. Unlike his muted second season, which had flashes of vitality, his third season has been lifeless, and he was sacked not long after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was fired. In the summer, Solskjaer looked to replace Wan-Bissaka with Kieran Trippier, and he must have wished he had. 2
Bruno Fernandes is a Brazilian actor.
After a disappointing start to the season under Solskjaer, he had to wait for Ralf Rangnick to show his worth. While his defensive play has improved, Dalot's attacking output has been dubious, with poor displays against Villarreal and Aston Villa. 6

From the first day, this season has been a complete disaster. Many United players have been exposed as a result of the increased audiences and expectations, with Maguire being the most egregious example. Pick one of the following nightmares: Leicester, Liverpool, Watford, and Burnley are all in the Premier League. He, like fellow Yorkshireman Joe Root, will almost certainly not be captain next season. 2
Varane, Raphael
The stat is skewed by Maguire's departure against Atletico Madrid, but United have yet to lose a game that Maguire and Varane have started and finished. Varane's presence makes a huge difference for United, but he has missed far too many games due to injury and illness. 6
Victor Lindelof is a writer who lives in New York City.
Lindelof, like many of his teammates, hit his stride early in the season with a hammering of Leeds. His other famous performance came at Elland Road, where he outperformed Marcelo Bielsa's Leeds United. Partially to blame for United's most dreadful results. 4
Eric Bailly is a Canadian hockey player.
Last year's contract was a waste of money and paper. This season, he has only appeared seven times for United, and it has been three months since he last played for them. Bailly was a standout performer for Atalanta and Chelsea, but his own goal spurred a City attack, and he dropped below Phil Jones in the central defensive pecking order. 3
Luke Shaw is a British actor.
This reporter warned of a probable England hangover due to Maguire and Shaw, two internationals who appear to care more about representing their country than their club, and who have been involved in some of United's most heinous defeats. Shaw has been out of the lineup for a long, and while he still talks a good game, he hasn't played one this season. 3
This season, Shaw has stagnated at United.
Telles, Alex
Telles has reinforced the notion that he is only a squad player whenever he has been given the opportunity. His performances have been mostly unremarkable. 5
Fred
It's bizarre. Fred was one of three United players that were booed sarcastically by the crowd. Fred improved after Michael Carrick moved him forward. He is one of the few players who has been able to transmit his behind-closed-doors performances to packed stadiums. I was able to secure a number of important victories. 6
Scott McTominay is a Canadian actor.
It isn't a lack of commitment, but it is a lack of quality. He was easily exposed against top-flight midfields, and his season peaked at home against Burnley. 5
Paul Pogba is a French footballer who plays for Manchester United.
Against Leeds at Old Trafford, he put up the best individual effort by a United player all season. Pogba's inability to carve out a place for himself at club level led to his demotion in October, followed by a three-month injury layoff. Since returning in February, he has played well in most of his games, but he was still dropped against Atletico Madrid in the second leg. 5
Matic, Nemanja
At times, it is underutilized, and at other times, it is overutilized. Matic is United's lone defensive midfielder, and it shows when he plays and when he doesn't. Infrequently reliable, but rarely for a full 90 minutes these days. 5
Juan Mata is a character in the film Juan Mata
Started in the League Cup against West Ham and in a Champions League group stage dead rubber against Young Boys, came in in the final seconds of a game won at Villarreal, and was put on to take a penalty in a shootout against Middlesbrough. Mata's contract extension was not justified in the least. 3

The numbers are there (nine goals and 13 assists), but the performances aren't. Fernandes can still make something out of nothing, but he isn't a constant enough threat in games, and his frustration gets the best of him on a frequent basis. 6
This season, Fernandes has been underwhelming.
Lingard, Jesse
The property should have been sold in the summer and then again in the winter. He was bafflingly disregarded by Solskjaer and was instrumental in United's victories over West Ham and Villarreal, but his United career is coming to an end with a succession of forgettable cameos. 4
Sancho, Jadon
Sancho's first three-and-a-half months were abysmal, and it wasn't until Solskjaer's departure that he started to shine, scoring against Villarreal and Chelsea. Rangnick got him off to a good start, but he hit another snag. He has been United's best player since the January internationals and is a sure starter once more. 6
Marcus Rashford is a midfielder for Manchester United.
In October, he had a promising comeback from shoulder surgery, scoring three goals in his first four games, but he has only scored two goals since then. Rashford isn't stuck in a rut - he's been out of form for nearly a year - and he was one of the few players cheered off the field by the crowd during the FA Cup triumph over Aston Villa. 2
Elanga, Anthony
In February, Elanga overcame Solskjaer's indecisiveness, a missed penalty in the Middlesbrough shootout, and racial insults from anonymous lowlifes to score at Elland Road at the Wanda Metropolitano. Elanga has kept Sancho and Rashford out of the lineup, and while there are still a few hitches to work out, the 19-year-old has had a breakout season. 7
Cavani, Edinson
Who might it be, El Matador? Edinson is his name, and he has yet another ailment. Cavani has only played in 23 of United's 40 games this season and has requested to sit out the FA Cup encounter against Middlesbrough. There have only been seven starts and even fewer goals (two). 3
Cristiano Ronaldo is a Portuguese footballer who plays for Real Madrid
In a season in which he turned 37, he scored eighteen goals in 32 games in the most difficult league in the world. Ronaldo's goals have all come in the Premier League and Champions League, with several of them being game-changing. With a magnificent hat-trick against Tottenham, he bounced back after a dreadful run of just one goal in ten games. 7
