PLAYER RATINGS: HOW THE BLACK STARS FARED IN THEIR MATCH AT ABUJA

Blogpay assess the performance of the Black Stars in their impressive World Cup qualification match against the Super Eagles of Nigeria in their backyard at the Moshood Abiola stadium in Abuja. 

JOSEPH WALLACOT 8.5/10: The Swindon town ball-stopper certainly was in form and on top of his game. He is one of the reasons for Ghana's qualification. He pulled everyone by surprise by making saves. Apart from his not so good distribution, he could have passed to be man of the match.

 

DENNIS ODOI 7/10: Former Belgium international, Dennis Odoi started at the right-back but shifted to a left-wing-back during the second half. Although the 33-year-old gave a good account of himself, his actions caused the penalty conceeded the goal for the Nigerian side. 

GIDEON MENSAH 7/10

The French ligue player had a fierce battle with Emmanuel Dennis of the Super Eagles and will be elated for keeping the Watford City player at bay in his home. 

DANIEL AMARTEY 8.5/10: The England Premier league player dealt with Victor Osimhen. Although the Leceister City centre-back had some scary moments, his general performance was phenomenal and a delight to watch. 

ALEXANDER DJIKU 8.5/10:  Djiku was his usual hard-tackling self against the Super Eagles of Nigeria. He indeed was a force to reckon with and tormented the forwards of the Nigerians. 

IDDRISU BABA 7/10: Not one of the best days for the midfielder. His case became worse after sustaining an injury during the dying hours of the first half. 

THOMAS PARTEY 9/10: The Premier league star led his side with a crucial opener with a shot from outside the penalty box. The Arsenal midfielder displayed his leadership traits and held it to victory. His leadership as Captain in the absence of Andrew Dede Ayew deserves an applause. 

MOHAMMED KUDUS 6/10: Kudus was virtually lost in the game just as he failed to meet the expectations of many in the first leg in Kumasi. 

ABDUL FATAWU ISSAHAKU 6/10: Issahaku was also missing during his 45-minutes of play in the first half of the game. His exit wasn't surprising. 

JORDAN AYEW 6/10: Crystal Palace striker Jordan Ayew failed to deliver as expected of him. Although he engineered the goal, his performance was not impressive as he was taken off during the break. 

FELIX AFENA-GYAN 7/10: The young Ajax Amsterdam player worked tirelessly to help destabilize Nigeria's backline. 

DANIEL KOFI-KYEREH 8/10: The German based attacker contributed to aiding the team retain more position after coming on at the start of the 2nd half. He made twenty passes. 

ANDY YIADOM 6.5/10: Andy Yiadom took over the right back position as Odoi moved left side of the defense and did marvelous to hold off Ademola Lukman and Moses Simon down the left. He came on in the second half of the game and played well. 

ELISHA OWUSU 6.5/10: Gent star came in to the game ahead of the 2nd half as the Black Stars attempted to shore up their midfield and destabilize Nigeria's attackers. 

OSMAN BUKARI 6.5/10: The French ligue player added more bite to the game. The Nantes winger attacked down the right after coming in the 73rd minute. 

Coach Otto Addo and his team has qualified the Black Stars of Ghana to the World Cup in Qatar. The away advantage goal sealed the ticket for the Black Stars.
