"He's a man of discipline." Rio Ferdinand names a Premier League manager as the person he'd like to see take over at Manchester United

Rio Ferdinand has stated his desire for Thomas Tuchel to leave Chelsea FC this summer and take over at Manchester United.

The Red Devils are now looking for a new permanent manager to take over for Ralf Rangnick, who will retire in the summer.

Erik ten Hag and Mauricio Pochettino have both been linked with the Old Trafford job, with the Ajax manager recently questioned by the Premier League club.

With Chelsea FC in limbo as a result of the British government's sanctions, former Manchester United great Rio Ferdinand believes the Red Devils should make a move to bring Tuchel to Old Trafford.

Ferdinand stated on his FIVE YouTube channel, "I'm taking Tuchel man, I don't care." If the roles were reversed and Man United were there with Tuchel as a sitting duck at our football club, we'd assume he'd be a sitting duck based on the reports we're hearing.

"If that were the case, and the roles were reversed, believe me, Roman and the empire would slam the door down." They wouldn't even knock, they'd run around the side and take him. Tuchel would be the ideal candidate. He has the pedigree. He's already proven that he can come into this league, adapt quickly, win the Champions League, galvanize a squad, and get them playing.

"He has the ability to create a culture and a sense of belonging. He's a man of discipline."

Tuchel's willingness to leave Stamford Bridge and join one of Chelsea FC's Premier League opponents is unknown, as the Blues are still competing in the Champions League and FA Cup this season.

Manchester United is currently fighting for a top-four finish this season.

Despite having played one more game than the Gunners, the Red Devils are sixth in the table, four points behind fourth-placed Arsenal.

They return to Premier League action on Saturday, hosting Leicester City at Old Trafford, followed by matches against Everton, Norwich City, and Liverpool FC.
