Salah Must Channel Egypt, Says Van Dijk Liverpool disappoints me.

Following their loss to Senegal on Tuesday, Mohamed Salah and Egypt will not be attending the World Cup.

On Tuesday, Sadio Mané and Senegal knocked Mohamed Salah and Egypt from World Cup contention, marking the second time this year Mané has let his club teammate down after his country's Africa Cup of Nations triumph.

Virgil van Dijk, the Netherlands' and Liverpool's great centre back, pondered on Salah's difficult predicament after his own 1-1 friendly draw against Germany on Tuesday, and said he hopes his colleague can use the setback as motivation.

When hearing of Mané's triumph and Salah's failure, Van Dijk said in his post-match interview, "I feel sad for Mo and for Egypt, but football is sometimes like this." "For the rest of the season, I'm confident he'll turn the disappointment into success."

"With Liverpool, we still have a lot to play for, so there are a lot of things still to achieve for him this year." As for Sadio, I wish him the best of luck, and if he's in our group, he'll need every bit of it."

While the AFCoN defeat and subsequent failure to qualify for the World Cup is clearly a setback, Salah will return to a Liverpool side that has won the League Cup and is still in contention for three more titles.

The opening match is against Watford in the Premier League, followed by the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Benfica, a probable league title decider against Manchester City, the second leg against Benfica, and an FA Cup semi against City.
