MTN NAMED BEST TAX COMPLIANT ORGANISATION IN NIGERIA,

MTN Nigeria Communications Plc (MTN Nigeria) received two honors at the Federal Inland Revenue Service's National Tax Dialogue Event, which took place recently (FIRS).

 

On Tuesday, March 29, 2022, the second edition of this stakeholder engagement conference took place in the Banquet Hall, State House Presidential Villa Abuja, with President Muhammadu Buhari as the special guest of honor.

 

MTN Nigeria was named the most tax-compliant company in Nigeria and a top 20 taxpayer for the fiscal year 2021.  These awards recognize MTN Nigeria's outstanding accomplishment in remitting taxes despite the pandemic's obstacles.

 

MTN Nigeria's overall tax payment to all government agencies, including the FIRS, was N757.6 billion in 2021, while the FIRS collected a total of N757.6 billion.  MTN Nigeria Communications Plc (MTN Nigeria) was recently honored with two awards at the Federal Inland Revenue Service's National Tax Dialogue Event (FIRS).

 

The second edition of this stakeholder engagement conference was held at the Banquet Hall of the State House Presidential Villa Abuja on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, with President Muhammadu Buhari as the special guest of honor.

 

For the fiscal year 2021, MTN Nigeria was designated the most tax-compliant corporation in Nigeria and a top 20 taxpayer. These awards honor MTN Nigeria's exceptional achievement in remitting taxes despite the pandemic's challenges.

 

In 2021, MTN Nigeria paid a total of N757.6 billion in taxes to all government agencies, including the FIRS, while the FIRS collected a total of N757.6 billion.

Minister of Finance, Budget, and National Planning Zainab Ahmed, speaking at the event, said the dialogue was intended to engage stakeholders in the Nigerian tax space in meaningful discourse in order to glean information, ideas, and experience to aid policy formulation and improve the tax environment.

 

 

 

Other tax revenue goals, according to the Minister, are "to institutionalize a good tax culture among Nigerians." Every Nigerian would be able to become a co-guardian of the tax system and the commonwealth if they adopt the appropriate attitude toward taxation.
