Mason Greenwood, a Manchester United forward, has been photographed for the first time since his arrest on suspicion of rape, assault, sexual assault, and making threats to kill.
On Thursday, the 20-year-old was seen wearing a balaclava as he drove his car around Altrincham, Greater Manchester, with friends. He is still on bail pending further investigation after being arrested on suspicion of rape and assault on January 30 and then again two days later on suspicion of sexual assault and making threats to kill.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) confirmed to Mirror Football that Greenwood's bail will expire on April 30, after which it may be extended. Following his arrest, United suspended the player, who has one England cap.
Greenwood was arrested again after police officers were given more time to question him. After suspending their player, the Red Devils issued a second statement reaffirming their commitment ""We will not make any further comment until the facts have been established," the statement said of the violence. Manchester United does not support any form of violence."
Greenwood's accuser has been offered "specialist support," according to GMP.
Greenwood made his competitive debut for United in 2019, and he has since made 129 senior appearances for the club, scoring 35 goals. He joined the club when he was six years old. He signed a new long-term contract extension until the summer of 2025 in February of last year, with the option to extend for another season.
