President of the Ghana Independent Broadcasters Association (GIBA) Cecil Sunkwa-Mills has hinted of more interventions from the association towards ensuring ethical journalism to define the barriers in broadcasting for the dissemination of right information.
He was speaking during a courtesy call on Media General’s Connect FM with his executives on Friday, February 18 to familiarize themselves with the activities of the company.
The GIBA President said that new regional branch coordinators have been elected for both existing and newly created regions in Western, Western North and Central regions to enhance their activities.
He also touched on some initiatives lined up to enhance the capacity of journalists such as strengthening the relationship between the police and the media.
Station Manager of Connect FM Ransford Osei Asare said the visit was timely and called on the executives to put in more effort in supporting their members while ensuring a healthy competition among them.
Accompanied by the Group Director for Crystal TV, Prince Djirackor, and the Executive Council Member for Radio, Kwame Adu-Mante, Mr Sunkwa-Mills toured the station.
