Rangnick explains why Manchester United has fallen behind Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham in the race for the top four.
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has been thinking on his team's Premier League performance this season and understands why the Red Devils are trailing their competitors for a top-four spot.
Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick has stated that the Red Devils' lack of goals is the main reason why they have fallen behind Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur in the race for a top four spot. The Premier League's four titans are presently locked in a fierce struggle for a Champions League spot, with Manchester City and Liverpool leading the way at the top of the table.
Chelsea, under Thomas Tuchel, appear to be in good shape to finish third between now and the end of the season, with Arsenal occupying the final Champions League spot. Arsenal's North London rivals are a position behind, with three points fewer than Arsenal, while Manchester United is in last place.
Rangnick's team has struggled in recent weeks, with only five league wins since the turn of the year - four of which have been draws. The absence of firepower, according to the German coach, is one of the reasons for the team's inconsistency.
"After Christmas, we focused on making sure the team was creating enough chances," he told Sky Sports ahead of this weekend's clash with Leicester City. "But since then, we've had games like the FA Cup game against Middlesbrough, the home game with Watford, and a few other games where we didn't score enough goals from the opportunities we created."
