After the international break, the English Premier League's 31st round will begin this week, and here are our best picks for this week.
Watford vs. Liverpool
Liverpool travel to Anfield on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. in the hopes of thrashing the relegation-threatened side for the second time in a row after thrashing them 5-0 away in the first round to earn their 10th Premier League victory in a row. The Reds have a chance to leapfrog Manchester City for a few hours due to their early match advantage and vast choice of player options. Given the work at hand, our best estimate is Liverpool.
Norwich - Brighton
With the worst records in the league (6th and 7th losses in a row, respectively), the International break may provide relief for both teams ahead of this match, possibly resulting in a draw. However, Brighton is denser at home against clubs below their position 13th, so Brighton may end up with the maximum points going forward.
Manchester City vs. Burnley
Liverpool's top-spot celebration on Saturday afternoon, which is a must against Watford, could be ruined. The Cityzens may not want to jinx such a position after running it for weeks, especially against a team that hasn't won in seven years. Manchester City is our top selection at Turf Moor Stadium when playing from afar with a large group of players.
Brentford vs. Chelsea
The Blues have proven to be a very strong team since being leveled with sanctions a few weeks ago, winning four Premier League games in that time and playing their first game at home (Stamford Bridge), they are in a confident mood to beat Brentford, who have yet to win against the top seven teams in the league table this season.
Southampton vs Leeds United
At Elland Road, new manager Jesse Marsch has instilled a battling spirit in Leeds United after a pair of victories before the international break, and the team appears to be in good form to beat winless Southampton (L4) this week. However, things may not go as smoothly as planned, and a draw is a distinct possibility.
Aston Villa - Wolves
Aston Villa are 14 points clear of the relegation zone and are one of the few teams that could play in a major competition next season if they keep their heads down and win the remaining matches (8) ahead of today's match at Molineux Stadium, but Wolves are closer than expected to playing in the Europa League next season, making them the favorite and our pick, especially playing at home.
Leicester City vs. Manchester United
Given Ndidi's absence and Vardy's long-term absence, a difference in results has always been welcomed between the two teams, but Leicester City seems to hold the key (W3) and is certain to record back-to-back wins this season. However, given Ndidi's absence and Vardy's long-term absence, their best outcome will probably be a draw. A win here would help the Red Devils make up for their Champions League exit ahead of the upcoming international break at Old Trafford.
Everton vs. West Ham United
Everton, desperate to avoid relegation, will give it their all on Sunday afternoon at the Olympic Stadium, but given West Ham's ambitions to finish in the top four or participate in the Europa League, things may still be ugly for Frank Lampard's team.
As a result, the 'Hammers' are our best bet for the future.
Newcastle United vs. Tottenham
Tottenham, who are aiming for a top-four finish, could use a win to put pressure on Arsenal this week, even if just for a few hours, and given Newcastle United's away record this season (W3, D4 L8), Tottenham appears to be on the verge of a position move.
Arsenal vs Crystal Palace
With their recent records in their previous five Premier League games - Crystal Palace (W3, D2) and Arsenal (W3, D2) - both teams will be put to the test on Monday at Selhurst Park (W4, L1). Arsenal are known for having a good start, which was seen in their last seven victories and, if replicated, might offer them a fighting chance to play in the UEFA Champions League next season.
