TUCHEL: CHELSEA WERE NOT THINKING ABOUT REAL MADRID

Following their 4-1 loss at home to Brentford, Thomas Tuchel remarked that his Chelsea players were completely focused on Saturday's game against Brentford and not next Wednesday's Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid.

Chelsea took the lead in the 48th minute when Antonio Rudiger scored, but Brentford scored four goals in the remaining minutes to claim a famous victory at Stamford Bridge.

Tuchel later added, "It's not about Real Madrid."

"It's all about us," she says.

It's a one-day break today, and we'll resume on Monday.

"We chose this team because we believed it to be the best for Brentford."

We didn't pay half a mind to Real Madrid or even a tenth of a mind to them."

Tuchel said that he had no idea why Chelsea's downfall occurred, although he did praise Brentford's goal-scoring prowess.

Tuchel commented, "Nobody saw it coming, especially after going 1-0 up."

"I'm not sure why, but it was really out of character for us.

"We, on the other hand, ceased to defend.

We were not sufficiently aware of the threat, were careless in our defense, and were penalized as a result.

"In just ten minutes, they made the most of it."

We had ten minutes following their third goal where we had big, enormous chances that we missed.

"They were fortunate and clinical in scoring three goals.

We didn't defend as well as we should have in the Premier League, and we were punished."
