Dr. Kenneth Ashigbey, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications, has finally asked the President to take immediate action to discourage Ghanaians from taking their saved money from their electronic wallets.

According to research, most Ghanaians are withdrawing all of their money from their mobile money wallet, according to JoyNews' Newsfile. As a result, he recommended Nana Addo and his government to implement measures such as cashout taxes.

This measure, he claims, will function as an indirect deterrent to Ghanaians withdrawing money from their mobile money accounts. He went on to say that this step will go a long way toward fulfilling the NPP government's goal of a cashless society.

This remark from the CEO of the Chamber of Telecommunications caused Ghanaians to criticize both his and Nana Addo's personalities. Some Ghanaians thought the CEO was being partisan, while others said his advice was completely unneeded.
