Chelsea goalkeeper Eduoard Mendy's hopes of winning the Golden Glove were further harmed today as his team was defeated by Brentford at Stamford Bridge.Mendy, who is perhaps the best goalkeeper in the world at the moment, would go on to concede four goals in a row after keeping a clean sheet in the first half of the encounter.
Meanwhile, Alisson Becker and Ederson Moraes, two of his main Golden Glove rivals, each preserved clean sheets in their respective outings. At Anfield, Liverpool defeated Burnley 2-0, while Manchester City defeated Burnley 2-0 at Turf Moor.Mendy is currently trailing Alisson and Ederson in the Golden Glove battle. Alisson and Ederson are in first and second place with 17 clean sheets each, while Mendy is in sixth place with 11 clean sheets.Even Arsenal's Aaron Ramsdale, Tottenham's Hugo Lloris, and Wolves' Jose Sa are ahead of Mendy, who finished second last season and missed out on the Golden Glove by a whisker.
With the current rating and only 8 games remaining in the season, it's reasonable to conclude Mendy has again again missed out on the Golden Glove.
