A lifeless body of a police officer from the Police Service's Eastern Regional SWAT was discovered at his home in Agyeiwaa Lodge in Koforidua.

Sergeant Emmanuel Asiedu's death was verified by DSP Ebenezer Tetteh, the Eastern Regional Command's Public Relations Officer.

The DSP told Accra-based Starr News that the 44-year-old officer's non-responsiveness was reported to his office on March 31.

DSP Ebenezer Tetteh said a squad was called to the officer's residence and found Emmanuel Asiedu "laying on his bed unresponsive in a supine position" when they arrived.

The Seargent, who was described as wearing blue-black vertically striped denim shorts, had dried froth in his mouth and vomit all over his face.

This is the third time a cop has been found deceased in the same house, according to reports.

Meanwhile, the deceased's remains have been taken to the Eastern Regional Hospital for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
