Oliver Mawuse Barker-Vormawor, a leader of the #FixTheCountry campaign, has been granted bail by the Tema High Court.
Ollie was arrested and accused of plotting an uprising in the nation if Parliament enacted the 1.75 percent E-Levy Bill.
He was detained after he reportedly threatened to organize a coup if the E-Levy Bill was ratified by Parliament in a post on a social media site.
Bail is set at GH2 million with two sureties, one of whom is required to submit papers pertaining to the defendant’s landed property as collateral for his release.
Police should keep his passport and require him to report to them once a week.
During a hearing in court on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, Justice Daniel Mensah concluded that the court cannot exclude itself from granting bail based on the circumstances of the case and the legal reasons placed upon him by both the defense and prosecution
