Before coming into marriage, young people, particularly women, are advised to prepare themselves mentally and physically in all aspects of life.

Mrs. Monica Danso, a midwife at the Sunyani Municipal Health Directorate's Family Planning Unit, advised, "Before you married and even think of starting a family, at least have fundamental needs in life such as money to cushion herself and the unborn kid in any emergency situation."

At a workshop on the causes and prevention of pregnancy-related problems and maternal fatalities hosted by the Ladies Association of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), the Midwife made the idea.

Mrs Danso, speaking on the theme of "pre-conception and delivery," emphasized the significance of women preparing adequately before and after marriage.

"It is our [women's] responsibility to support our husbands." We are not supposed to be burdens, thus we must work as mothers to support our families," said the Speaker.

Mrs Ellen Yeboah Agyemang, the Sunyani West Coordinator of GNAT-LAS, stated that members of the Association are always willing to help their husbands make their homes more enjoyable.
