At Akyem Hemang in the Fanteakwa South District of the Eastern region, a 21-year-old man is accused of murdering his grandparents.

After pounding fufu for his now deceased grandparents, Appiah Korang, 80, and Yaa Yeboah, 78, the culprit, Moses Appiah, alias Kuffuor, allegedly performed the evil crime on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at about 5:30pm.

He is accused of repeatedly hitting the heads of the deceased with a pestle.

According to Starr News, the suspect pulled out a machete and threatened to kill the couple the day before the incident, but was overcome and the machete was seized.

"It is believed that he started taking heavy drugs, therefore misbehaving around," John Appiah, the Assembly Member for Akyem Hemang, said. So he arrived to the house three days ago with a machete, intending to slaughter the grandparents, but he was overwhelmed and the machete was taken away."

"Yesterday these old couple arrived home from their farm and set on fire cassava to prepare supper, which the suspect pounded the fufu for them," the Assembly stated. However, after bashing the fufu, he went into his chamber and drew another cutlass, threatening to murder them if they didn't release the machete that had been taken from him. He took a knife from behind his back and attempted to stab them, but his hand was struck by a young boy in the house.
