Manchester United players were photographed in training on Tuesday as they prepare for their FA Cup match against Middlesbrough on Friday, following Mason Greenwood's arrest on rape and assault charges.

Greenwood, 20, was arrested on Sunday afternoon after a woman reporting assaults posted horrific images and videos on social media.

Police questioned the forward late into the night on Sunday and were given more time to question him on Monday.

The images appeared to show the woman bloodied and bruised, and the audio included a voice recording of a conversation between a man and a woman dated October of last year, which allegedly chronicled the woman's attack.

Greenwood, who earns £75,000 per week and has also represented England at the senior level, has been suspended by his club until further notice.

Within hours of the messages going viral on social media, United issued a statement stating that they were aware of them and that they were conducting inquiries 'to establish the full circumstances.'

'Manchester United does not condone any form of violence,' it added.

United went on to say that the player would "not return to training or play games until further notice."
