In the Western Region's Effiankwanta Regional Hospital mortuary, there was a commotion when four well-built guys submitted someone who was not dead to be placed in the morgue.
Eric Yamoah, a mortuary attendant, told Nhyiraba Paa Kwesi Simpson on Connect FM's Omanbapa morning show that the four brawny men arrived at the facility around 9:00 p.m. on Thursday with the 'dead person' in the bucket of a white Nissan pickup truck with registration number AW 2497-21.
"They directed my other colleague to take the 'dead body' to the morgue from the car, but I could see the individual was still breathing, so I stopped him." Despite the fact that he was not dead, the four men continued to force us to take the body," he said.
"The guys drove away with the supposed dead body out of fury," the attendant continued, "but after a few meters away, they noticed the males savagely hitting the individual who was assumed to be dead at the bottom of the car," the attendant added. They drove away, leaving the sufferer at the bucket."
"After arguing with us for a while, they drove away when they realized we couldn't help them." We could see them stomping on the young man in the vehicle's bucket as they drove away. "We're afraid they'll kill him on the way," he continued.
He went on to say that they had never had an incident like this before at the morgue, and it had gotten everybody all worked up.
He went on to say that they had never seen anything like that in the mortuary before, which left them perplexed as to what the young men's goal may be.
"We're baffled as to why they wanted to kill him by force." The man was not dead, but they intended to kill him because he was extremely powerful and showed no signs of illness. "Since I started this work, there has never been an occurrence like this," he said.
An ambulance driver who was present in the facility at the time of the event, John Kwamena Koomson, said they were afraid for their life and couldn't go any farther.
The incident has been reported to the police, who have obtained statements from the witnesses.
