Owusu Twum Ampofo, better known as Pataku, was the immediate past Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Abuakwa North in the Eastern Region.
He died at Akyem Tafo Government Hospital on March 30, 2022, in the morning. Pataku became the first MCE for Abuakwa North after it was separated from Abuakwa South on June 1, 2018. He was succeeded by Alhaji Umar Babs Bodinga, the current MCE, in 2021.
Mr. Ampofo had been suffering an illness that had worsened in recent months, prompting his admission to the Akyem Tafo Government Hospital.
The former MCE was a politician and an educator. He was the previous headmaster of Mampong School for the Deaf and the former headmaster of Nkawkaw Senior High School.
