Two people have been arrested in connection with a shooting incident that occurred last Friday in Asunafo, Eastern Region.
The suspects were apprehended on Sunday, according to DSP Ebenezer Tetteh of the Eastern Regional Police Public Relations Officer.
Other suspects, he said, are on the run, and police are on the lookout for them.
"We'll also make sure that people who are involved to these disruptions go through the proper legal channels and that the law is written to punish them," he said, adding that this will act as a deterrence to others who might try to take the law into their own hands.
One person was killed in the incident, while eight others were injured by gunshots. Nine people were shot during the mayhem and brought to the Enyirensi Government Hospital, where one person was confirmed dead.
As a result, DSP Tetteh has appealing to citizens to provide information that may assist the police in apprehending the criminals.
He stressed, "We want to assure anyone who will be providing us with such information that it would be treated with the utmost discretion."
