Arsenal fans were disappointed with forward Alexandre Lacezette's performance in Monday's 3-0 loss to Crystal Palace.

The French striker had a nightmare night in front of goal as Arsenal failed to overtake Tottenham Hotspur in the race for the top four.

In 23 Premier League appearances, the former Lyon forward has only four goals. His lack of offensive oomph has been a frequent source of frustration for the north London club.

Lacazette has long been scrutinized by Gunners fans, and his exploits during the crushing defeat to Palace enraged them.

Here are some of the angry fans' reactions to Lacazette:

If there was ever a game that exemplified Arsenal's need for a new center-forward, it was Monday's loss to Palace.

Lacazette was ineffective, indecisive, and lacked any kind of threat. Mikel Arteta will understand the importance of bringing in a proven goalscorer this summer.

After losing their former talisman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Barcelona in January, they have been linked with a number of strikers.

Darwin Nunez of Benfica is one player who has been linked with a move to the Emirates. According to DailyExpress, the Uruguayan has been subjected to background checks.

This season, the 22-year-old has been in scintillating form for the Primeira Liga side, scoring 27 goals in 34 appearances across all competitions.

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is another name being mentioned.

The Gunners are scouting the Nigerian, who has 11 goals in 20 Serie A league appearances, according to The Sun.

Any centre-forward Arteta manages to entice to the Emirates will have to adapt quickly, given the position's lack of depth.

The Gunners have only Eddie Nketiah and the usual wide-forward Gabriel Martinelli behind Lacazette.

Folarin Balogun is on loan at Middlesbrough in the Championship, but he is unlikely to return to the first team next season.

With UEFA Champions League football on the table, there could be a plan to bring in two strikers to add depth.

Kevin Campbell, a former Arsenal striker, believes the club should pursue Ollie Watkins.
