Sadio Mane has requested that Liverpool forego a special World Cup ceremony in honor of Mo Salah.

Senegal defeated Egypt last week to earn a spot in the 2022 World Cup, pitting Liverpool talents Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah against each other for the second time.

When Mane returned to Liverpool, the players planned a special 'party' for him, but the 29-year-old requested for it to be cancelled out of respect for Salah.

Egypt was eliminated from the World Cup playoffs after losing on penalties to Senegal in the Africa Cup of Nations final in February.

"No, they are not rivals," Jurgen Klopp stated when asked about Mane and Salah's friendship. You're in a team together, and you both want to score goals.
