Under the auspices of the Ghana Armed Forces' Defence Industries Holding Company Limited (DIHOC), Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has inaugurated 12 Joint Venture enterprises (GAF).
It's a collaboration with the business sector to establish the groundwork for a defense industrial complex. The cooperation will, among other things, ensure that the GAF's logistics and other security services are met in a timely and efficient manner.
They will develop items of strategic relevance and value for the GAF, other security agencies, and Ghanaians in general, as well as construct a center of excellence for consistent and practical research and development in different elements of the country's human and socio-economic security needs.
The Joint Ventures are an important part of the government's One District One Factory initiative and the Ghana Beyond Aid agenda, and with the military's large pool of resourceful human capital in fields like engineering, architecture, business administration, logistics management, nursing, and medicine, as well as a reputation for discipline, ingenuity, and innovation, this is a big win for Ghana.
