Huawei Ghana has provided ICT devices and equipment worth 125,000 to the Mampong Akuapem Senior High Technical School for the Deaf in Ghana's Eastern Region to help students with hearing loss learn and instruct.
Seven HD projectors for digital instruction, two 65-inch television sets, two sets of public address systems, 20 desktop PCs, and 20 pairs of office desks and chairs were among the things presented to the school.
The donation, which demonstrates the premier ICT company's dedication to promoting inclusive education for all students at all levels, was made in order to provide hearing impaired pupils at Mampong Akuapem with a more practical learning experience. It will also try to make the process easier.
Jenny Zhou, Huawei Ghana's Director of Public and Government Affairs, said during the ceremony that Huawei prioritizes social contributions geared toward ICT and Education, and that as a result, the company will continue to consciously invest in more such initiatives to help the country's development of inclusive education.
Huawei is currently collaborating with UNESCO, the Ministry of Education, and partners in Ghana to implement the pilot of the Technology Enabled Open School System (TeOSS), in which robust systems that can connect schools and home-based learning at the Basic School level are being built to ensure the continuity and quality of learning in normal and crisis situations.
