Zoomlion Ghana Limited (ZGL) was named Excellence Change Management Brand of the Year at the recently concluded 4th Africa Human Resources Innovation Awards 2022 (AHRIA) held at the Movenpick Hotel in Accra on Friday, March 25, 2022.
Collins Kofi Frempong, the Jospong Group of Companies' (JGC) Group Head, Human Capital for the Environment and Sanitation Cluster, was also named Male HR Professional of the Year.
This year's event, themed 'Rewarding Excellence in the HR Sector,' was attended by the cream of Ghana's HR fraternity as well as those from neighboring nations.
The 4th AHRIA was held to honor organizations that have great HR practices as well as outstanding HR practitioners who have proven excellence and innovation in the HR field.
The evening provided an excellent chance for stakeholders to network, entertain clients, strengthen relationships with partners, and recognize outstanding performance among employees.
In a welcome address, Mr. Akin Naphtal, Chief Executive Officer/Founder of Instinct Wave, praised organizations and practitioners who, despite the impact of the Covid -19 epidemic on the worldwide workforce, have pushed the boundaries and set the bar of excellence in the field.
"HR is obviously the focal point of every organization, but the Covid-19 pandemic has irrevocably cemented this great profession's place." With no clear end in sight, employers and employees were thrust into confusion and uncertainty.
For much of 2020 and the early half of 2021, HR was in crisis mode, figuring out how to allow workers to work from home, attempting to provide additional mental and physical health care, and focusing more than ever on C-level tactics to keep their companies running. The job of HR has fundamentally changed as the dust settles and firms adjust to a new normal," he emphasised.
MTN Ghana, the telecommunications giant, took up six of the most coveted trophies on the gala night, as did Goldfields Ghana, Absa Bank, VRA, DVLA, Bank of Ghana, and Nigerian Brewery, among others.
