Joe Cole was unamused with Chelsea's singular missteps against Real Madrid on Tuesday.

The Blues took on Los Blancos in the principal leg of their UEFA Champions League quarterfinal at Stamford Bridge. Karim Benzema engineered the guests' success by scoring a full go-around while Kai Havertz scored the main goal for the Blues in a 3-1 converse.

Thomas Tuchel's men were poor with their energy levels, and made a couple of individual blunders that were rebuffed by Real Madrid. The costliest of those came from Edouard Mendy, whose lost pass permitted Benzema to fold the ball into a vacant net from fresh.

Joe Cole feels the match is still on for the Blues, who go to the Santiago Bernabeu one week from now for the subsequent leg. He told BT Sport (detailed by means of Express):

"The following goal in the tie is vital. It's a gigantic request to go to Spain and upset a 3-1 shortage. Tuchel transformed it at half-time, went to a back four and looked significantly more brilliant and more keen."

Cole scrutinized Blues safeguard Antonio Rudiger and goalkeeper Edouard Mendy for their singular mistakes.

"One thing you can't represent is individual errors. Rudiger and Mendy failed to understand the situation. Benzema was remarkable and gives them a decent benefit one week from now. However, the tie isn't finished."

Previous Real Madrid winger Steve McManaman concurred with Joe Cole, saying:

"Here and there not the groups score the most goals, the group commit minimal measure of errors that success rivalries. Madrid were incredible this evening, experienced, hotshot focus forward. In these tight games, one misstep or a shipping off can change the account of the entire game."
