According to Fabrizio Romano's 'Here We Go' podcast, Braga defender David Carmo could finally go to the Premier League this summer after Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool missed out on a £23 million transfer a year ago.Romano also claims that two Premier League clubs are interested in a 22-year-old dubbed the "Portuguese Virgil van Dijk" by some. For the time being, the identity of those mysterious suitors is unclear.
Manchester United, on the other hand, might use some defensive reinforcements. Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte is looking for a new left-sided centre-back to slot into his preferred back three. Carmo, who has a left foot, would surely fit the bill (Athletic).
Liverpool, on the other hand, does not appear to be planning another bid very soon. During the January 2021 transfer window, Liverpool were willing to spend £18 million for Carmo (AS). However, Braga demanded £23 million, so the Reds focused their attention on Ozan Kabak and Ben Davies.
The fact that neither player is presently a member of Klopp's team should tell you everything you need to know about Kabak and Davies' experiences at Anfiel"David Carmo had a foot and a half at Liverpool, but we kept him," said Antonio Salvador, president of Braga."I was seeking for replacements on the day the market closed," says coach Carlos Carvajal. Carmo, who has been compared to Sergio Ramos because of his "enormous physical capability and tactical acumen," just returned to the first squad after months on the sidelines due to a fractured ankle.
On Thursday, he is expected to play against a Rangers side without Alfredo Morelos in the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals.d.oon.
