Jose Enrique, a former Liverpool left-back, has praised Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher, who is presently on loan at Crystal Palace. The 22-year-old midfielder, according to the Spaniard, would "fit perfectly" into Jurgen Klopp's style at Anfield.

Gallagher has been a standout performer for Patrick Vieira's side this season, scoring eight goals and assisting three times in 26 Premier League matches. He has been a key figure in the Eagles' recent success, with the team now sitting in ninth place in the league table. Fans and commentators alike have praised his hard ethic, darting runs from midfield, and crunch tackles.

Enrique has just joined the list of admirers, praising the England international on Twitter. This came after Crystal Palace's 3-0 Premier League victory over Arsenal on Monday.

The following was Enrique's tweet: "Gallagher will be fantastic at LFC. What a performer. I adore his presence and the energy with which he performs. It'll be ideal for Klopp's style of play "Gallagher's Chelsea contract expires in 2026. While Enrique believes Gallagher would be a fantastic match for Liverpool, the Blues may bring him back next season on loan.

After a contrasting weekend, Liverpool and Chelsea prepare for the Champions League challenge.

On Saturday, April 2, Liverpool defeated Watford 2-0 at Anfield in the Premier League. Diogo Jota and Fabinho's goals were enough for Jurgen Klopp's side to win. The Reds are only a point behind Manchester City, who defeated Burnley 2-0 on the same day.

Chelsea, on the other hand, were defeated 4-1 by Brentford at Stamford Bridge. With a spectacular strike, Antonio Rudiger gave them the lead. Vitaly Janelt's brace, as well as goals from Christian Eriksen and Yoan Wissa, sealed the Bees' comeback. With a game in hand, the Blues are presently third in the rankings, 14 points behind leaders Manchester City.

The focus will now move to the opening leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals for both clubs.

On Tuesday, April 5, Liverpool plays Benfica in a reasonably straightforward match. Meanwhile, on Wednesday, April 6, Chelsea will play a more difficult opponent in Real Madrid at Stamford Bridge.
