Real Madrid is one of Europe's most prestigious clubs, with a long and illustrious history. The Spanish giants have dominated European competition, earning the most champions league titles in history. They did, however, extend their advantage in La Liga by defeating Mallorca away from home. Los Blancos are the clear favorites to win La Liga in 2021-22, but they will have to compete with other major European clubs for champions league success. Real Madrid hasn't lost a game in which they have conceded five or more goals in a long time.Three La Liga teams have scored five or more goals against Real Madrid: Barcelona, Valencia, and Espanyol. Barcelona set the record at Santiago Bernabeu in 2009 under Pep Guardiola's tutelage, while Valencia won their largest match against the Spanish giants in the 1999 Copa del Rey Semi-finals. Espanyol, on the other side, has delivered Real Madrid their biggest win in a single game. The Spanish sides are still the only ones to have scored seven or more goals against Real Madrid. Only difference is that these goals were only scored in a friendly game. The 8-1 win over Real Madrid by Espanyol in the 1929/30 season is still the heaviest loss of the Spanish giants in La Liga. No other Spanish side has ever scored more than eight goals against Real Madrid in a single La Liga match. Real Madrid has also surrendered five or more goals to European opponents. In a preseason friendly in early August 1980, Bayern Munich was Real Madrid's worst nightmare. In a preseason friendly match against Real Madrid, the German club became the first and only team to score more than eight goals. In the 1981/82 UEFA Cup competition, Kaiserslautern outscored Real Madrid by more than four goals, making it one of Real Madrid's most humiliating defeats in the competition's history. Despite the fact that competition is becoming more intense, Real Madrid has not conceded five or more goals this season, scoring six and five goals in La Liga against Mallorca and Celta Vigo, respectively, and five goals in the UEFA Champions League against Shakhtar Donetsk.
