Black Stars Captain and Al-saad forward, Andre Dede Ayew is likely to face sanctions for declining an invitation to face the Parliamentary select committee on sports.
According to the chairman of the Parliamentary select committee on sports, Hon. Johnson Adu, the captain of the national team was tabled to appear before the fact-finding committee after the country's abysmal performance in the just ended African Cup of Nations held in Cameroon.
The Black Stars was last in their group and was ousted at the group stages of the continental tournament.
Speaking to Angel FM sports, the chairman of the Parliamentary select committee on sports said all efforts to get the captain of the national team to explain to them why they performed badly at the tournament has failed.
"We are done with our work; we will present our report to the floor of Parliament. We are not happy about something, the captain Dede Ayew has declined our invitation. We've tried to talk to him on zoom, but haven't been successful.
Hon. Johnson Adu claimed Ayew has refused to attend the meeting after returning home to watch the 2022 World Cup first leg playoffs against Nigeria in Kumasi.
"When he came for the Nigeria game in Kumasi, we invited him again he didn't come. I won't say much, but tomorrow all of us will know what is in the report", he said.
It's unclear the kind of punishment that could possibly be meted our of the star forward.
