We're Still Standing, Strong And Firm - John Dumelo
If I'm worthy of giving you an advice: then I'd say, love is the most important thing: it's important than a fancy wedding, it's important than wealth, it's important than looks and it's important than status and titles. With love in your boat you can smile at any storm, together.
For us, what keeps us together till date is not necessarily what we do but the love we share and the willingness to stand by each other to raise the family God has put in our care. Behind your looks, money, title, status, whatever, is a soul full of compassion and kindness. That's what counts! So be the reason someone believes in love. Because as said earlier, love is the most important thing. Never neglect it when marrying.
Notwithstanding, not all fingers are the same and you aren't in a competition with anybody. I'm John Dumelo and you are you. Some spend millions on weddings and divorce months after. Others never did a wedding at all yet lived together in harmony for 100 years. That was mostly the fate of our parents and grandparents and still a very few of us today. So whatever works for you, do it.
Don't compare yourself to others. Not all that glitters is gold and what works for someone might not work you. So be content with that which you have. For instance, I'm a Ghanaian actor and a farmer. My wife is a Ghanaian citizen too and a lawyer based in the United Kingdom. We can't afford to compare ourselves to the Obamas but we can look up to them and let their outpoured love for each other be our inspiration. That's how it should be. We only enjoy life by being true to who we are, not who we are not.
We hope, that the world raises a generation that cherish love and the goodness in humanity above every other thing.
